On behalf of our client Gate Gourmet, we seek a Supply Chain Manager. The position involves overall responsibility for the entire supply chain operations with direct report to the Supply Chain Director of Scandinavia and the local Unit Managers of Norway.

THE POSITION

Responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Norway Gate Gourmet purchasing and supply department. Responsible for the achievement of the departmental, as well as the Scandinavian team short-term and long-term objectives.

 

In cooperation with the country manager and SCM Scandinavia to ensure that the Supply dept. in every way is run profitably and ethically. 

  • Overall responsible for managing the country purchasing and supply team and all processes involving the department.
  • To be responsible for securing the economical supply of products and services from third parties into our company and for the flow of materials into the unit, considering rules and policies from the company.
  • To prepare and maintain documentation concerning suppliers and products.
  • To secure reliable and efficient supply processes from forecast to delivery.
  • To be responsible for keeping all purchasing activities in line with Norwegian laws and regulations as well as company purchasing policies.
  • To be responsible for ensuring that all purchasing decisions are based on sound commercial judgments and represent the best possible solution as to price, quality, delivery time and service.
  • To be responsible for updating the system with regard to price changes and ensure that suppliers comply with the contracts with regard to terms and conditions.
  • To ensure regular updates of IT systems mainly concerning unit-based activities due to business needs. 
  • To support the commercial department with product development for customers.
  • To inform the Country Manager and Scandinavian Supply Manager in writing of any extraordinary situations.
  • To ensure there is a cost effective and smooth running supply chain operation.
  • Member of the Area Management Supply Group.
  • Responsible for business excellence in Supply - services and leadership.
  • Responsible for bringing the results that have been communicated.
  • Responsible for 4 persons in the SCM department.

THE CANDIDATE 

  • Experience within the food supply and airline-catering industry would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of three years experience in Supply or Logistics.
  • Experience in the controlling side of purchasing and logistics from Facility management, or production industry.
  • Administrate the purchasing through already entered purchasing  agreements.
  • You must be prepared to have hands on with the daily routines.
  • You must be structured in your management style
  • Experience of Material Management in an operational system .
  • A food hygiene qualification.
  • Experience in managing staff.
  • Good administration and organisational skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Computer literate - MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Team player.
  • Self-starter / initiator / work under pressure.
  • Good level of spoken and written English with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet set targets/deadlines.
  • Minimum of three years experience in Supply or Logistics.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
